Minutes of August general meeting.
August 2, 2011
The Middle Georgia Miata Club met on August 2, 2011 at 7:00 PM at Montana's Restaurant in Byron,GA. The Treasurer's Report was given by our Treasurer,Barbara Marshall.
The members who went to Deal's Gap in North Carolina the weekend of July 29-August 1st had a great trip!
On Saturday,August 13th at 2:00 PM -Marie,Bert, and LaVern are going to Georgia Bob's Cane River Vineyard in Byron to visit a wine tasting room that has retail sales of mostly Georgia wines and specialty gifts. In the full wine tasting,you get to taste five wines and you can keep the glass. If anyone wishes to join them, let Marie Prescott know.
Wednesday,August 17th-We will have a Miatas & Milkshakes at the Dairy Queen in Byron. Plan to meet there at 7:00 PM. Hope to see everyone there!
August 19-21 Rocket City Miata Club is having their 2nd Annual Miatas at the Lake gathering at Guntersville State Park in Guntersville,AL. They are inviting all Miata Clubs in the surrouding states. They have area drives and two dinners planned. For more info about Lake Guntersville go to www.alapark.com/lakeguntersville For reservations for Miatas at the Lake,contact the Lodge at Lake Guntersville State Park. On Saturday,August 20 or Sunday,August 21st, there will be a Poker Run at 4:30 PM. This will take us South of Warner Robins.
Also on August 20th,they are having another breakfast at the Masonic Lodge in
Danville ,GA! Let Jackie know if you would like to go. Meet at Highway 96 & 247.
Sunday,September 11th, we are having our Annual End of Summer Picnic at 2:00 PM. This will be at Ken & Joyce Cloud's daughters house on Lake Sinclair. The club will furnish hotdogs,hamburgers, condiments,Coke & Sprite. Please bring a covered dish to share. If you want a special drink, you will need to bring your own. Don't miss this fun event!!
There was a discussion about changing the date of our trip to the Gap next year. At the next meeting, we will take a vote on which date and month to go to North Carolina.
For club members that have been in the club for a while, One of our past members,Sam Morton from Columbus,Ga passed away this past December We are sending a sympathy card to his wife,Emily.
Also Tom Hayward had prostate cancer surgery August 2nd. We are sending him a get well card in the mail.
